| Coimbatore Kidney Centre is a very active renal transplant centre.
Approximately 100 renal transplants are done every year. Till now more
than 1000 transplants have been done.
To provide special intensive outpatient care to patients undergoing
renal transplantation treatment, a Renal Transplant Clinic has been organized.
This clilnic is headed by Dr.K.S.Ramalingam, M.D., Nephrologist and
Dr.P.Thirumalaisamy, M.S., M.Ch., Urologist. All the members of transplant
team attend the clinic.
This clinic takes care of pre transplant work-up and post transplant follow up
and provides all medical and non-medical guidance.
Because of our long experience (30 years) in this treatment, the results of kidney transplantation in our Centre have been one of the best anywhere in the world. Our transplant Physicians use the latest state-of-the-art equipment and technology.
Pre and post transplant work are of international standards done by MEDSERVE, the medical diagnostic wing of CKC. Pathologists, Immunologsits & Biochemists of Medserve have organized all the necessary investigations for proper selection of donor and post transplant follow up. Therapeutic drug monitoring of many immunosuppressive drugs is also available.
